High alert sounded in Tamil Nadu after terror threat

ADGP of Tamil Nadu has said that the information on the security threat came from central intelligence agencies.
The alert was sounded after police received intelligence that the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba was planning strikes in the state. He said that specific terror threat was to the Madurai Meenakshi temple in Tamil Nadu.
A high level meeting was held between chief minister Karunanidhi & police officials on the security threat. Security has been beefed up at major temples across the state.
