High alert sounded following recovery of Bomb in Navi Mumbai

The Mumbai Police had on Saturday night defused a crude bomb found at Vishnu Das Bhave auditorium in Navi Mumbai. The time bomb was found as a Marathi play was being staged. The explosive is suspected to have been placed under the seat before the start of the play. As the lights were switched on during the interval, it was discovered by a person in the audience. The theatre was evacuated at around 9 pm & a bomb detection squad defused the bomb.
Interestingly, the final of the DLF IPL between Chennai & Rajastan will also be played at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai later on Sunday. Just as a precautionary measure, 800 extra security personnel along with sniffer dogs will be deployed at the stadium during the match.
