H R Bhardwaj introduced Women’s quota bill in Rajya Sabha
A resolute government has introduced a Bill providing for reservation of one-thierd of seats for women in Parliament & state legislatures in the Rajya Sabha, amid high drama & scuffles between members on Tuesday.
Law Minister H R Bhardwaj introduced the controversial Bill in the midst of Samajwadi Party members trying to snatch its copies from the hands of the Minister.
As agitated SP member Abu Asim Azmi & his party colleagues tried to snatch the bill copy from Bhardwaj, Congress members intervened & Women & Child Development Minister Renuka Chaudhary repulsed the attempts by pushing Azmi away.
Top leaders including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh & Leader of Opposition Jaswant Singh were witness to the high drama.
