Rahul Raj killed in a shootout in Mumbai

A young man identified as Rahul Raj was killed on Monday by police in a state transport bus after he was suspected of trying to take the passengers hostage in suburban Kurla. Rahul wanted to give a strong message to the MNS chief Raj Thackeray for his ongoing attack against the North Indian community living in Mumbai especially Biharis.

The incident occurred around 09:30 hours inside a BEST bus in the northeast suburb. A senior Police official said, “The man fired at the police in “Bail” Bazar area of Kurla & was shot in retaliatory fire”.

He was pronounced dead at the Rajawadi hospital in Ghatkopa. A passenger, who also sustained injuries in the incident, has been taken to the same hospital, where his condition is reported to be critical.
