Gujjar stir ends, granted 5% quota
The agitation by Gujjars has been called off on Wednesday after 26 days as the Rajasthan government granted 5% special quota to them in the existing OBC category.The agreement was signed today by Vasundhara Raje, Chief Minister, & Kirori Singh Bainsla, Gujjar leader, spearheading the stir.
Raje said in a press conference, “The government has decided to grant 5% special quota in the OBC category over & above the existing quota for the Gujjars”. Bainsla, for his part thanked the Rajashtan government for considering their demand & apologised to the people of India for the inconvenience caused due to the agitation.
