Fuel price hike protests: 200 arrested in Chennai
Jun 7th, 2008 | Category:Breaking News, Cities News, India News, National News, States NewsAt least 200 supporters of Left parties who tried to stage rail-blockade in different parts of Chennai protesting the fuel price hike have been arrested on Saturday. The agitating workers were nabbed at the two railway stations in the northern suburbs of the city, Tiruvottiyur, Ambattur & Guindy.
Meanwhile, unidentified miscreants damaged the windshields of two MTC buses at Ayanavaram in Chennai by pelting stones at the vehicles. However, no one was injured in the incident. Left parties have called for a dawn to dusk general strike in Tamil Nadu on Saturday protesting against the recent fuel prices hike.
