Fresh violence break out in Nandigram, two injured in clashes
At least two injured in fresh violence which was broke out on Monday in West Bengal’s embattled Nandigram between supporters of the Bhumi Ucched Pratirodh Committee (BUPC), which is opposing land acquisition for industrialization & activists of the ruling CPM.
A senior official of Police said that both sides exchanged fire & hurled bombs at each other at a new area in Nandigram, where two BUPC members were injured.
The official said that violence was reported from Satengabari & Jambari area in Nandigram Block II on Monday. CPM & BUPC supporters exchanged fire & hurled bombs at each other.
Two BUPC members Gopal Gayen & Utpal Mandal were injured when BUPC & CPM activists clashed at Gokulnagar on Sunday night. They have been admitted in Nandigram Hospital with splinter injuries.
