Four militants killed in encounters in Jammu and Kashmir
Four militants, including a commander of Laskar-e-Toiba outfit, were killed in separate encounters in Kashmir valley. The commander of LeT, Mehboob Ahmed Afradi alias Jugnu, was killed in a joint operation by Army & police in Baramulla district on Friday. The militant was asked to surrender but he opened fire & in the ensuing encounter he was killed around 4:50 a.m..
In another operation, police & Army killed three militants at Sona Pindi in Kupwara on Thursday night. On specific information regarding the presence of militants in Sona Pindi area, a joint operation was launched by Kupwara police & Army. An encounter broke out between the joint party & militants in which three militants killed. He said one more militant has been trapped & efforts are on to neutralize him.
