FIR lodged against Akali councillor for slapping cop
A criminal case has been registered against a SAD councillor for allegedly slapped a head constable in full public view in Patiala. According to the FIR registered at Tripuri police station, Akali councillor from ward number 50 Balbir Singh Kharoud allegedly slapped head constable
Jagdish Singh, who objected to his parking the car in the no parking zone outside Mini Secretariat. Meanwhile, it was learnt that the SAD councillors are putting pressure on the police to cancel the FIR. As per the FIR, “The councillor slapped the police officer thrice & the matter could be resolved only after some onlookers intervened”. Tripuri SHO Karansher Singh, “We have registered a case under sections 283, 186 & 294 of the IPC”. Senior officials have assured that the FIR would be cancelled after the inquiry.
