Kunal Deshprabhu, 26 years old, son of former Pernem MLA Jitendra Deshprabhu, died in a car crash at Sangolda on Sunday. Calangute police said that the mishap occurred at about 4.15 am when Kunal, who was driving towards Calangute in a Maruti Swift, lost control of the steering wheel on the Sangolda slope & rammed into the compound wall of a house before crashing into a tree. Subsequently, the vehicle turned turtle. The cops added that the front tyre to the left was punctured.

Kunal was immediately shifted to Goa Medical College & Hospital doctors declared him brought dead’. Kunal’s friend, Aneesh, who was also in the car, was admitted to hospital with injuries. Police said that Aneesh was not in a position to give a statement.
