Dr. Amit Kumar the kingpin of the kidney racket on Thursday denied the charges framed by the CBI against him. Dr. Amit Kumar said, “I have not removed the kidney of any person on gun point. The kidneys were transplanted with the mutual consent of the donors & the beneficiaries”.
He alleged that the CBI had falsely implicated him in the case & now it was freezing his bank account in Canada without any justification.
He was produced in the court of Special CBI Magistrate, Abdul Majid along with the other 10 accused on Thrusday who remanded them to judicial custody till April 2.
Dr. Amit Kumar was arrested on 7 February, 2008 from Room No.6 of Hotel Wildlife Camp at Sauraha camp near Kathmandu by a special team of police of Kathmandu in Nepal.
Dr. Amit Kumar was the mastermind behind an international racket in illegal kidney transplants which has been operating for many years. Kidney Kingpin Amit Kumar is accused of having forced or duped around 500 people into their donating kidneys.
