Dera Sacha Sauda followers clash with Sikhs

A clash between Sikhs & Dera Sacha Sauda followers took place on late Tuesday night on the issue of “naam charcha” at Rori village situated near Haryana-Punjab border. Four persons, including a Dera follower, were injured in the clash. Also, members of Sikh organisations torched a Dera follower’s car & house.

It started when Sikh organisations came to know about the “naam charcha” being held at Dera follower Dharampal’s place & Gurdwara Granthi Naib Singh told villagers to reach there. However, when Dera followers came to know about it, they reached Dharampal’s place with bricks & stones.

Villagers said that when members of Sikh organisations reached there, Dera followers started pelting stones on them & Sikhs also retaliated. As the situation was getting ugly, the neighbours called the police.

Police controlled the mob, but before fleeing the members of Sikh organisations torched a car parked outside the residence of Dera follower Om Parkash & also a portion of his house.

In the clash, a Dera follower & Amarjit Singh, Jassa Singh, Buta Singh, members of Sikh organisations were injured & rushed to Sirsa hospital. Police is investigating the matter.
