CPI(M) observes 12-hour bandh in Nandigram Today
A 12 hour bandh was being observed in Nandigram on Monday in protest against the killing of a CPI(M) activist by Trinamool Congress supporters on May 23, after the declaration of Panchayat results. The Marxists are also observing bandh all over east Midnapore. Shops were closed & vehicles, including rickshaws & vans, were off the roads.
The CPI(M) activist, Khaled SK, was killed when he was returning from work at a factory in Haldia on May 23. Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress leader Abu Taher today reiterated his demand for unearthing of arms from Khejuri, a CPI(M) stronghold adjacent to Nandigram.
