Jammu & Kashmir’s CM Ghulam Nabi Azad has resigned after losing the floor test. The Azad government was reduced to a minority after PDP withdrew support on June 28. Ahead of the confidence vote, Azad, along with state Congress president Saif-ud-din Soz, met Governor N N Vohra last night. The meeting lasted more than two hours.

PDP patron & MLA from Pahalgham Mufti Mohammed Sayeed is currently in the United States on a private visit. There are reports stating that it was likely that President’s rule is clamped on the restive state for sometime as there is no provision for a caretaker Chief Minister in the constitution of Jammu & Kashmir.
