Cabbies protesting against attack on Indian Student in Australia

Cabbies are protesting against the stabbing, dozens of cabbies took off their shirts & blocked a busy intersection in Melbourne on Wednesday, disrupting vehicular movement. They are shouting “we want justice” & ‘”shame, shame Victoria Police”, some drivers took off their shirts in a freezing morning.
The rally came after a 23-year-old Indian taxi driver was stabbed in Melbourne early on Tuesday. He was stabbed several times in the chest by a passenger & left to die. Agitating cabbies, who want the government to take swift action, have also come up with several demands, including compensation for the cabbie and severe punishment for the offender.
An Indian student in Melbourne who worked as a taxi driver has died after being wounded over a fare dispute. Haryana-born Jarnail Singh, a student working as a cab driver is now stable in condition.
