Bus fell into canal in Kestopur
Apr 4th, 2008 | Category:Cities News, India News, National News, States NewsA bus has been skidded off the road & plunged into a canal in which 10 killed & at least 30 injured in Kestopur in North 24 Parganas.
An official said that the 10 people were killed when the overloaded bus on the 217B route going to Narayanpur from Babughat in the metropolis fell into the canal.
The official said that there were “some deaths” but the casualty figure was not immediately known. He also said, “The police had rescued 30-35 injured persons & rushed them to different hospitals”.
Divers were called to look for bodies in the canal. Two cranes pulled the bus out of the canal.
