Bomb Blast in Dhemaji district in Assam
At least 1 person was killed & 20 injured in a powerful bomb blast by the banned ULFA in upper Assam’s Dhemaji district around midnight on Saturday.
An official said that the bomb exploded in an open field where a local festival Ali-Aie-Lrigang (Lrigang) was being celebrated near the telephone exchange at Jonai.
The injured had been taken to hospital. Police rushed to the spot where the bomb was exploded.
The ULFA has intensified its violent activities in the state since the last one week in the run up to its ‘Raising Day’.
