BJP won all three seats of Rajya Sabha in Madhya Pradesh
BJP has won all the three seats of Rajya Sabha in Madhya Pradesh. The BJP on Saturday won seats in the biennial elections for the Rajya Sabha in Madhya Pradesh. BJP candidates Prabhat Jha, Raghunandan Sharma & Maya Singh won the polls by bagging 58 votes each.
An official said, “Noted lawyer & independent candidate, Vivek Tankha managed to get just 51 votes”. The official said that though the BJP was sure of cornering two seats on its own, for the third seat it needed seven additional votes but it got one more than its expectation.
The party got the support of three Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP) MLAs, two from Samanta Dal & one each from Samajwadi Party, Janata Dal (U) & Independent.
All the three ruling party candidates won the polls to the Upper House by getting first preference votes.
