BCCI gives Rs. 15 lakh for U-19 players
BCCI chief Sharad Pawar announced that the players of Indian Under-19 cricket team will receive a reward of Rs 15 lakh each. The Indian team won the Under-19 Cricket World Cup crown after a gap of eight years with a close 12-run victory over South Africa.
Sharad Pawar said, “The team has done a great job, have demonstrated there is a lot of potential in young players & that the future of Indian cricket is bright. We have asked the Karnataka Cricket Association & all other colleagues to accord a befitting welcome for the winners”. The BCCI will also be giving a reward of Rs 10 lakh each for coach Dave Whatmore & other members of the team support staff, Pawar added.
