Fears of Ajmal Amir Kasab’s life has been expressed by the Mumbai Crime Branch. It is said that Kasab’s life is under threat and he might be killed in the Arthur Road Jail.
Kasab is the only surviving terrorist of the Mumbai carnage and is the only source of information extracted by the investigating agencies. He is to be shifted to the Arthur Road Jail. Police are aware that Kasab’s life is in danger.
Since the issue of Mumbai attach has assumed international proportions, security agencies are extra cautious with Kasab. Within the jail a special court will be set up for the hearing of Kasab.
The perception of the threat is gauged with the fact that in all the hearings till date it is the Magistrate who has come for the hearing and Kasab has not been taken to the court any time. He has not been brought out even once. He has been kept always away from the public gaze.
It is a fact that the Arthur Road Jail is home to several dreaded criminals and most of them belong to Dawood and Chhota Rajan. In this jail fighting between the inmates is a regular occurrence.
