Arms dealer Suresh Nanda granted bail
Apr 29th, 2008 | Category:Breaking News, Delhi News, Haryana News, India News, National NewsDelhi High Court has granted bail to arms dealer Suresh Nanda, his son Sanjeev & two others on Tuesday who allegedly manipulated evidence in a case of alleged kickbacks in the Barak missile deal.
The Nandas, their chartered accountant Bipin Shah & IRS officer Ashutosh Verma had been in custody for the last 53 days. Justice S N Muralidhar said, ”Each of the petitioners shall be released forthwith”.
The court directed them not to leave the country without the court’s permission. Suresh Nanda & Sanjeev, who is also an accused in the BMW hit-and-run case, Shah & Verma, Deputy Director (Investigation) in the IT department, were arrested by the CBI on March eight from a Mumbai hotel. The CBI has alleged the Nandas bribed public servants to manipulate income tax records.
