Ansar Burney reached India received by Bikram Singh Majithia

Burney was received at the border by Punjab Information & Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia. He might meet family members of other Indian prisoners languishing in Pakistani jails, including Kirpal Singh.
He will also meet Sarabjit Singh’s kin. He visit Punjab in a bid to persuade Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal to release Pakistani prisoners languishing in jails.
He is in India on an official visit on an invitation from Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. Burney said he would request the Indian government to release all such prisoners without delay & repatriate them back to Pakistan.
During his visit, he is also expected to visit New Delhi & meet with senior members of the Indian Government & make request for the release of other Pakistani nationals lodged in prisons across India.
