Another site for Appu Ghar in Delhi
The Supreme Court has asked the Central government to allot an alternative site for the Appu Ghar at market price within two months if it is possible. A bench headed by Justice Arijit Pasayat also asked the Delhi Development Authority & Land & Development Office to furnish their response through an affidavit detailing if they were ready to allocate another site for the most sought after recreation centre.
The court’s directive came after senior advocate Arun Jaitley appearing for Appu Ghar’s counsel adviced the court that the firm, while running the children amusement park for last 25 years, has made huge investment in it.
Jaitley contended that his client has the required documents to show that it was the permanent allot of the land by International Trade Promotion Organisation.
The senior lawyer informed the court that the DDA had earlier indicated that it was not averse to allocating alternative site to the amusement park at market price.
