After Bush and Chidambaram, Naveen Jindal gets the shoe in Kurukshetra

by Sunil Sonkar

Again a shoe was thrown. Now Naveen Jindal gets the shoe in Kurukshetra. Today, a retired school teacher hurled a shoe at Jindal, Congress MP. Show throwing appears to be a fast-catching trend that has been inspired by the episodes of show throwing towards George Bush and later to Indian home minister P Chidambaram.

Ram Kumar, the retired school teacher however missed his target during an Lok Sabha election rally in the Kurukshetra constituency from where Naveen Jindal is contesting the general election polls. Naveen Jindal is an industrialist.

The retired teacher after throwing the shoe at Naveen Jindal said that he did such in protest of the policies of the Congress.

Immediately police took the retired teacher in custody and whisked him away from the rally. Naveen Jindal alleged that the teacher was under the influence of liquor.

The episode of shoe throwing to US President George Bush took place in Baghdad last year. A show was thrown to India’s home minster P Chidambaram at a press conference by a Sikh journalist on Tuesday in Delhi protesting against the CBI clean chit to senior Congress leader candidate Jagdish Tytler in an 1984 anti-Sikh riots case. This incident sparked protests by Sikh that had led to the withdrawal of Tytler and Sajjan Kumar as Congress candidates.
