7 shot dead in Manipur, girl found murdered

Seven non-Manipuris on Tuesday have been shot dead by unidentified militants at Mayang Imphal Hanglun in Imphal, West district of Manipur. The militants came in a vehicle & gunned downed seven people from close range, killing them on the spot.

The official sources said that the victims were involved in the business of selling of tobacco products “khaini” & “zarda”, which were banned by the insurgent organisation Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF). Eyewitnesses said that the words “go back to your state” were found written on the back of the shirts of those killed.

In an other case of murder an eight years old girl was found dead after suspected rape near local railway station in Amritsar. The migrant girl belonged to Telpur village in Betia district of Bihar & was now living on local Banga road. The girl, along with her family, was to leave for their native place by a train last night to attend a marriage. A rickshaw of one family acquaintance Surinderpal was hired for going to the station.

The rickshaw puller took the girl for getting her drinking water on the station but the rickshawpuller returned alone after sometime. When parents of the girl asked about the whereabouts of the girl, he said that she should have returned by the time & also started searching for the missing girl along with her parents.

The body of the girl was spotted by a railway gangman who informed the railway authorities.
Police is investigating the matter.
