30-year-old Indian actor found dead in hotel in Sydney, Australia

An Indian actor has been found dead in a hotel in Sydney in Australia, Police said on Friday. A 30 years old Indian actor, who was part of an acclaimed Indian production of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, was found dead in mysterious circumstances in a Sydney hotel.

The actor, whose name & other details are not released by the Sydney police until his family in India has been informed, was found dead on March 25, three days after the Sydney season of the production ended.

The British director Tim Supple’s multilingual production of the Shakespearean comedy was staged at the Sydney Theatre from March 11-22. Police said the Indian was found dead by staff in a hotel at Hosking Place in the central business district of Sydney at about 3pm.

The death was not suspicious & the matter had been referred to the coroner. The show had been presented by Arts Projects Australia.

In a statement a senior official of police said: “A member of Dash Arts Production (who performed A Midsummer Night’s Dream) has died in Sydney some days after the conclusion of the Sydney season of the production. Until police inquiries & a post-mortem is completed we have no knowledge of the cause of death but believe that it was due to natural causes & that there are no suspicious circumstances”.
