20 killed in accident in Patna
At least 20 people have been killed when a jeep carrying a marriage party fell into a water-filled ditch in Patna in the wee hours on Tuesday. Anwar Hussain, SP of Patna said, “The dead include 10 women & nine children”.
He said that the tragedy occurred when the victims, all belonging to the bride’s side, were returning to their home in Janipur locality in the state capital after solemnising the marriage at a temple in Alamganj in the old city area.
Hussain said, “It was raining heavily & the driver lost control of the vehicle which plunged into the ditch”. All bodies have been fished out & sent for postmortem.
