18 killed as Heavy rains lashed Maharashtra
18 people have been killed in different parts of Maharashtra as heavy rains lashed Maharashtra on Thursday. Four people were struck by lightning in Kolara & Bhorsabhorsi villages in Buldana district of eastern Maharashtra. In Aurangabad, three people were crushed to death & another three injured when a wall collapsed due to heavy rains in the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) complex.
Earlier a minor boy was killed in Mumbai when a wall fell on him in Chembur, a northeastern suburb. Seven people lost their lives when the barge in which they were sailing, sank off the Maharashtra coast in choppy seas on late Wednesday night. Three people have been killed in the past two days, one each in Satara, Hingoli & Thane districts, after being struck by lightning.
