Yesterday Manmohan Singh was sworn as Prime Minister along with his 19 Cabinet colleagues. The first session of this new government will be convened from 1st of June to 9th of June.
Union Minister P Chidambaram said to the media that the decision in this regard was taken at the first meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by PM Manmohan Singh.
President Pratibha Patil will be addressing the joint sitting of the Parliament on 4th of June. On the same day the Rajya Sabha will also commence its session.
Singh said at the Cabinet meeting that the UPA has made some promises and they will keep the promises.”
The new members will be taking oath on 1st and 2nd June and the election for Speaker’s post will be held on 3rd of June.
Discussion on Motion of Thanks to President’s address will take place on 5th, 8th and 9th of June. The process of passing General Budget will be completed by 31st of July failing which a Vote on Account will be approved said P Chidambaram.
