14 killed in landslides in Itanagar
At least 14 people have been killed in landslides in different places in Itanagar on Saturday. Four members of a family were killed when a large chunk of earth fell on their hut on the slope of a hill this morning.
The rest of the fatalities were reported from different places of Neharlagun. Retired Governor Gen. J J Singh instructed the Deputy Commissioner to start the relief work & appealed to people to stop unplanned constructions in the state capital.
J J Singh said, “It is not the rain that killed people, but mindless construction without following safety norms that has claimed so many lives”.
