Pak at last has registered a case against Ajmal Qasab, the lone terrorist caught in 26/11 Mumbai attack, and 12 others at the Dockyard Police Station in Karachi. 3 of these have been arrested in Pakistan, and other 9 have been identified.

Now Pak may now seek consular access to Qasab for further investigations. Qasab is now in custody of the Mumbai police. On the other hand India, earlier, had said Qasab and others sailed from Karachi to Mumbai.

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said, “no official information” on case against Qasab. BJP president Rajnath Singh added that all the proceedings against Qasab should be held in India.

The case against Qasab was registered on the basis of the probe conducted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The decision was made by the Defence Committee of the Cabinet during the meeting on Monday, quoted unidentified sources as saying.
