No bail for Yusuf, Rubeena
The sources said that the Supreme Court rejected the bail plea of two accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, the members of the Memon family Rubeena & Yusuf. While Rubeena’s bail plea was dismissed, the apex court ordered setting up of a medical board to asses Yusuf’s mental health.
The apex court made it clear that Yusuf’s bail plea would be considered only after the medical board submits its report. Both the Yusuf & Rubeena were sentenced to life term by the TADA Court in Mumbai last year.
Rubeena was arrested for allowing the use of a Maruti van, registered on her name, by other convicts, who had delivered the explosives, while Yusuf, who is suffering from neurological problem, was arrested for allowing his flat to be used for hatching the conspiracy.
