The lone Pakistani terrorist, Ajmal Amir Kasab, captured during the 26/1 attacks can be tried in India because he had committed a crime in that country. This was told by Defence Minister Chaudhry Pakistan Ahmed Mukhtar on Saturday to the media in the eastern city of Gujarat.

He added that India can conduct the trial of Ajmal Amir Kasab according to its own laws. This lone terrorist captured during the Mumbai attack cannot be extradited and he can be tried in India as he had committed a crime there, he mentioned in his brief to the reporters.
A senior leader of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party said that those who are accused and had been detained in Pakistan in connection with the 26/11 attacks will be brought to trial in a Pakistani court.
According to the Pakistani officials formal charges have been filed in connection with the 26/11 attacks against nine suspects. This also includes Kasab. 6 of the other 8 suspects have been also detained by Pakistani authorities while 2 are still at large.
