On Thursday, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram stated that the Jarawa video, shot in the Andaman Islands, violates the Andaman policy. The video shows that the Jarawa tribals are dancing to entertain tourists.
Today the union home minister told reporters “Video is violation of Andaman policy. That video was shot 3 or 4 years ago. We have given instruction to the administration, they are looking for the videographer and the tour operator to interrogate them and take quick action.”
Journalist Gethin Chambarlain made the shocking story for the British newspaper ‘The Observer’. After the video appeared on news channels, Andaman police claimed that the video is an old one and accused the British journalist for forcing the tribals to dance. The British journalist refused to disclose the actual date, but stated that the video is not old.
