NEW DELHI, India:
David Coleman Headley, the American national Pakistan-born suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative, will be charged with by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for allegedly plotting Mumbai terror attacks last year on November 26 and the NIA also seek to bring him to India for trial said home ministry officials on Tuesday.

A senior home ministry official said, “Investigations against them (Headley and his accomplice Tahawwur Hussain Rana) are still under way and we would be filing a supplementary charge-sheet for his role in 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks within a month. It would be filed in coordination with the Mumbai Police.”
He also added, “We will also try to extradite Headley for trial in India.”
CHICAGO, US:
Yesterday Headley was charged in a 12-court criminal information at a Chicago court with 6 counts of conspiracy to bomb public places in India, murder and maim persons in India and Denmark, provide material support to foreign terrorist plots, provide material support to terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba, and six counts of aiding and abetting the murder of US citizens in India.
These charges were announced by US Attorney for the National District of Illinois Patrick J Fitzgerald and Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago Office of the FBI Robert D Grant.
Headley may face maximum statutory penalty of life imprisonment or death if convicted.
MUMBAI, India:
Headley will also be charged separately by the Mumbai police related to 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. This decision comes after the FBI approached the Chicago court and gave details about the reconnaissance missions that were carried out by him at the behest of the LeT.
According to official sources, Indian investigators have ample proof about Headley who conducted surveillance of targets in Mumbai for over two years preceding to 26/11.
