Half of India’s internet connections disrupted

India’s internet services have been hit badly as around half of country’s internet connectons disrupted. It was stated that the problem started at around 2:00 pm in many parts of the country. The main cause behind this problem is the breakdown in an international undersea cable network near Egypt. The President of Internet Sevice Provider Associstion of India Rajesh Chharia said that, “There has been a 50 to 60 per cent cut in bandwidth”.
India’s BPO and IT companies are the ones most affected by the breadown in undersea cable network. Reports say that the emergency back up has been activated to give some relief to users, but it might take more than a week for the connection to be completely restored-DailyNewsReport.
