12th July, 2012, Mumbai: On Thursday, veteran actor Dara Singh (84) in Mumbai. R. K. Aggarwal, his doctor told that he died due to cardiac respiratory arrest at around 7:30 am. Last week he suffered a serious brain damage and a cardiac arrest.
On Wednesday, he was shifted to his home from hospital as his family as Dara Singh’s family wanted him to spend his last moments at home. His son, Vindu Dara Singh told reporters that he is already home and there is no hope. Doctors also told that he had less chance of recovery.
Commonwealth wrestling champ joined the film industry in 50s and he is well known for his roles in ‘Faulad’ and ‘King Kong’. In 2007, he was last seen in the film ‘Jab We Met’ in which he played Kareena Kapoor’s grandfather.
The political fraternity and the film industry were shocked by this sad news. Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, “Dara Singh ji passed away this morning. A great Indian and one of the finest humans..An entire era of his celebrated presence gone!”
Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, “Wrestlers r made of sweat,determination & a hard to find alloy called guts…most apt for Dara Singhji our very own Superman.Will miss u sir.”
