NEW DELHI, India: Dalai Lama does not want to become the cause of tensions between the relationship of India and China. He said that India is his host for 6 decades and in recent months the country had stayed firm against China.

The Tibetan spiritual leader said in an interview to a private TV channel, “I did not want things to escalate between India and China.” The interview will broadcast on Monday.
Before Dalai Lama’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh, China had protested it sharply. China also claims Arunachal Pradesh as southern Tibet.
Leaders in India Indian leaders pointed Dalai Lama’s visit to India as an “honoured guest.” They said he was free to travel anywhere in India without making any political statement as a refugee in the country.
Five decades ago Dalai Lama fled to India and said that he had been worried about his visit to Tawang in light of the Chinese rhetoric.
He said, “I was very anxious before going to Tawang.”
