Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh has been strongly expressed as dissatisfaction by China today.
Singh will be on Arunachal Pradesh visit this weekend to woo the voters ahead of assembly polls going to be held on Monday.
Ma Zhaoxu, China’s foreign ministry spokesman posted on the website of the ministry, “We demand the Indian side address China’s serious and just concerns and not trigger disturbances in the disputed region so as to facilitate the healthy development of China-India relations.”
This protest of the China reflects enduring Chinese sensitivities in the state sharing 640-mile (1,030-kilometer) unfenced border.
In 1962 China fought border war and the frontier is not yet settled despite thirteen rounds of talks after that
China claims it to be their own territory not recognizing a British colonial-era border McMahon Line, which designated the region as part of India. Even a chunk territory of India in Kashmir is occupied by China.
China even protested Dalai Lama’s visit to the region last month.
