NEW DELHI, India: The new innings of Nitin Gadkari begins as new BJP President on Sunday. He called on the senior BJP leader L K Advani for blessings and his support during his tenure.

Gadkari, along with his family members, met Advani.

Talking to the media, Nitin Gadkari, 52-year-old BJP chief said, “Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Advani have been the source of inspiration for me. I had met Vajpayee yesterday.”

He also added that he is new to Delhi and national politics, but with the blessings of senior leaders he will be confident of performing his duties and responsibilities entrusted to him. He said to the reporters that after meeting L K Advani his confidence has increased.

Yesterday, after taking over the charge of presidentship, Gadkari had called on Atal Bihari Vajpayee and other senior leaders like Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh and M Venkaiah Naidu.

As Advani had gone to Vrindavan yesterday after the party’s Parliamentary Board meeting, so he was not able to meet him.
