Bangladesh admits linkage of 26/11 in its soil

It has been almost three months after the Mumbai terror attack and for the first time in this period Bangladesh officially admits that terrorist outfits operating from its soil may also have been involved in the plot.

The Daily Times, one of the leading newspapers from Bangladesh quotes, “The terrorist attacks that have been carried out within the region in the recent months, even in Mumbai, there is a cross-border linkage among all the terrorists,” This was said by Hassan Memoud, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

He also in his speech accepted that the Harkatul Jihadul Islami, banned militant outfit, has its base in Bangladesh and the outfit continues to function from there. Hassan Memoud also claimed that the militants are gets training in Pakistan and Afghanistan before being transported to Bangladesh for carrying out such attacks.

Detailing further about the outfits he said that the terrorists from outfits such as the Lashkar-e-Toiba and Harkatul Jihad got the trainings in Afghanistan and Pakistan before they were send to Bangladesh.
