Again a racial attack in Australia. This time a 22-year-old Sikh youth. He was assaulted by a group of six teenagers. They tried to remove the turban of this youth and cut his hair.

Resham Singh is a student of hospitality in Australia. Six months before he came from Punjab to study there. He was attacked yesterday at Dandenong Station and he is the 20th victim in a month.

According to Singh, the group first abused him and left and again came back with more people and a pair of scissors. They tried to remove his turban and tried to cut his hair.

He said, “My friends tried to save me.” He also added, “education agent back in India never gave me any information of how hard life will be here.”

Later two of the attackers were arrested by the police. A police spokesperson said, “The youths from Dandenong — aged 13 and 15 years — were charged with intentionally causing serious injury, recklessly causing serious injury and assault in company.”
