Aussie government denies racist angle of attacks on Indian students

The Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd, has today condemned the attacks on Indian students in their country. He offered apology for the incidence.

News comes that the Australian government denies the racist angle to the attacks on Indian students and has also assured our foreign minister S M Krishna that such kind of attacks would not recur.

Kevin Rudd said, “The attacks are appalling in every sense.”

In total of four attacks on Indian students has been taken place in very short span of time. The first of them was reported on May 9.

Sravan Kumar Theerthala, the victim, is a 25-year-old Indian student. He was assaulted this Sunday in Melbourne. He is battling for his life in a hospital’s ICU.

He hails from Andhra Pradesh. He went to Australia to study two years before.
