Ajay Maken assures that the government will help Yuvraj

6th Feb, 2012, New Delhi: Ajay Maken, the union sports minister told that the government will help Yuvraj Singh who is in the United States for the treatment of cancer. Last night, the concerned sports minister wrote on Twitter, “Wish Yuvraj a speedy recovery! Asking officials to find the quantum and nature of help required. The Indian batsman’s family earlier claimed that to be a tumor in his lungs. The cricketer is in the Cancer Research Institute in Boston, where he is undergoing chemotherapy at present. Dr. Jatin Chaudhary, the physiotherapist of Yuvraj stated that the ailment can be cured totally and he will be able to play cricket by May.

Chaudhary told that the doctors decided that Yuvraj would have to undergo chemotherapy and then he went to the United States on 26th January. The left handed bats man will undergo a CT scan at the end of March and he is expected to recover by then. After that he needs some rehabilitation in April before returning to the field. He is also taking ayurvedic medicines and only three cycles of chemotherapy are needed. Previously, the doctors feared that he will have to go through a six cycles of chemotherapy.

Chaudhary said that an Indian hospital delayed the detection of cancer. Right now he is a lot better than what he was.
