14th September, 2012: TV nutritionists and health campaigners have ‘demonized’ white bread in the past, but a new research claim that it is actually a source of minerals and vitamins. Recently, British Nutrition Foundation’s paper has brushed off the idea that white bread spark weight gain and may cause bloating. Instead the group has said that sliced white bread has vital minerals and vitamins.
Dr Aine O’Connor told that health professional need to drive out the myths as bread is an important source of nutrition. She added that in spite of falling bread consumption, UK has the biggest corpulency issues in Europe, hinting that bread is not certainly to be blamed for that.
Research in the year 2010 indicated that people who prefer to eat a diet high in pasta and white bread are like to arise heart disease compared to those who eat a more balanced diet.
