Swine Flu Woe Adds Gasto Patients

Ludhiana, July 26 – Swine flu once again hit India, now being reported in Jalandhar, a city in Punjab. The negligence of health department can cause much complications. As swine flu is a highly contagious disease, there must be an isolation ward meant for patients who are suffering from the diseases but Jalandhar hospitals patients are remain kept in the ward that are being used for gastro patients.

Every year monsoon comes with gastroenteritis diseases and make the health department on their feet. This year double blows come to scare the health department as with gastroenteritis diseases along with the H1N1 virus haunts people.

While talking to reporters, one of the officials said that the health department has already issued guidelines to all districts to tackle with all kinds of emergency. He further added that for swine flu patients the guidelines have given to maintain an isolation ward. However, with the pouring patients of gastro diseases, the wards are being used for gastro patients.

Best on the last year data during the swine flu outbreak in the state, the number of isolation bed were 1,041, of these, 437 were with civil hospitals while 604 were with the private hospitals. There were total number of 160 ventilators were available.
