18th July, 2012, New Delhi: On Tuesday, TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) said TDSAT (Telecom Dispute Settlement and Administrative Tribunal) that they are ready to have discussions with television channels to look at amending its instructions on determining ad timings for their shows.
The counsel, who is appearing for the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, told that that the regulator is ready to discuss all the issues aroused by the television broadcasters who moved to the Telecom Dispute Settlement and Administrative Tribunal against the twelve-minute/hour advertisement time for their shows.
Saket Singh, the TRAI counsel, told that they are looking into all the issues in a broad manner and there are things they are ready to consider.
Justice S. B. Sinha, the chairman of TDSAT has agreed to the request of TRAI for 6 weeks time for holding discussions and rethink all the issues.
TRAI also made it clear that they would not implement their order on all the limitations imposed regarding the advertisement duration till 30th August.
