27th July, 2012, London: England capital London is all set to stage a grand spectacle at the opening ceremony of Olympics 2012 that will feature more than 10000 athletes for the next fifteen days. Total expenses for the opening ceremony, directed by Danny Boyle, will be around £ 9.3 billion. The Oscar winning British director told that he will present a show that will present a picture of them as a nation. The 3 – hour long spectacle is expected to be viewed by a global TV audience of around 1 billion.
For London, this Olympic is not only about the opening ceremony or the game, but it is more about the city itself. This is not the same England capital that was selected ahead of Paris to host the games. The city experienced terror bombings that killed 56 people and last year London was rocked by riots. Now London needs the Olympic Games to highlight itself as one of the great cities in the world.
Thousands and VIPs and leaders including United States First Lady Michelle Obama, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie will be present during the opening ceremony.
American internet giant Google, whose Google Chat and Google Talk service were down yesterday, has marked Friday’s opening ceremony with its doodle that shows 5 athletes.
