Television presenter Mark Speight’s body found

Police has found the body of the missing television presenter Mark Speight hanging in the roof of a London railway station. The body of Mr Speight 42 years old hung undiscovered for six days in the roof space above busy Paddington station.

Mr Speight was last captured on camera entering Queen’s Park tube station in north-west London at 2.25pm last Monday afternoon. He was seen 22 minutes later boarding a southbound Bakerloo Line train heading towards the centre of the capital.

Mr Speight was reported missing after failing to keep an appointment to meet his girlfriend Natasha’s mother Carmen, 57 years old for coffee in Covent Garden at 3.30pm the same day. Hours before his body was discovered, his dad made an emotional plea for him to get in touch.

In similar case, Police has found the body of a man in the Fitzroy River in central Queensland. The man was reported missing after he went swimming in the river on Saturday (IST).

The body was located by police at Rockhampton about 11.30am (IST) on Monday. The body is yet to be identified, it is believed to be that of a 34-year-old man who went swimming in the river about 2.45pm (IST) on Saturday.

The man was reported missing by his friends when he disappeared while attempting to swim to a rock island in the river, sparking a search by police & State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers.
