MUMBAI, India: Shilpa Shetty, one of the bloom actresses of Bollywood, married London-based businessman Raj Kundra. It was celebrated as the most awaited weddings of tinsel town.

Khandala hosted the lavish ceremony of wedding. It was a ‘pakka’ traditional Mangalorean ceremony at Kiran Bawas’ villa in Khandala. It blessed with the presence of close friends and family. After a bit of confusion Shilpa’ sister Shamita Shetty left the ‘Bigg Boss’ house to attend the marriage ceremony.
Raj has arrived to Bawa Villa in a chariot beautified with flowers and drawn by two horses. The groom came in a maroon sherwani with golden embroidery and his turban was embellished by string of pearls. As the customs, he held a sword in his hand, and he was received by Shilpas’ parents and her sister Shamita Shetty.
Shilpa was adorned in a claret and red saree designed by Tarun Tahiliani.
The marriage ceremony was a fusion of both Manglorean and Punjabi tradition. Pre-wedding rites like ‘Mehendi’ and ‘Sangeet’ conducted in Punjabi custom whereas the wedding vows being swapped as per South Indian tradition.
It is 34-year old Shetty’s first wedding but Kundra was previously married and has a young daughter also.
The Bollywood was not invited for the ceremony except few of her close friends like Sunny Deol, Suneil Shetty, Jackky Bhagnani and Vasu Bhagnani.
